Nominated "Best Dutch Blues Pianist 2012"
Internationally known pianist, singer and recording artist Eric-Jan Overbeek (1967) also known as Mr. Boogie Woogie has been awarded the prestigious honor of being named Best Dutch Blues Pianist 2010 by the Dutch Blues Foundation, after being voted Best European Blues Pianist in 2005 by the Trophees France Blues. Overbeek who hails from the Netherlands began playing piano at the young age of 8 and got his first regular piano playing job at age 12.
“Mr. Boogie Woogie comes straight from the Jerry Lee Lewis school of high-pressure playing. Except Mr. Woogie is lots faster. Add the hand-speed of Muhammad Ali to the forceful personality of The Killer and you've pretty much got the Boogie-meister."
- Chuck Graham, Tucson Citizen
“Overbeek's piano techniques can be described as nothing short of overwhelming." - The Glendale Star
"It only takes about 30 seconds of listening to “the boogie woogie man” to know this guy belongs in America's most energetic roadhouses seven nights a week.... Heart patients are advised to check their pacemakers at the door." - Arizona Daily Star
